Costa Rican Gallo Pinto Recipe: The ingredients
- 1 lb. (450gr) thick black beans
- Half small onion
- Half sweet pepper
- 2 cups (350 ml.) white rice
- Lizano sauce or Worcestershire
- A spoon of oil
Costa Rican Gallo Pinto Recipe: Preparation
This is pretty easy: just grab a pan, at medium temperature, and then add a spoon of oil.
Next, chop the cilantro, the sweet pepper, and the small onion, add it to the pan, then let it sit for a couple of minutes. After that, add the black beans, followed by the rice, and then add the salt.
Then just give the whole thing and a good stir, and let it sit for about three minutes.
Now you just need to turn off the heat, stir it a little bit more, and let it sit for another five minutes or so.
Costa Rican Gallo Pinto Recipe: The sides
Once the Gallo pinto is ready, the perfect side for it is a couple of eggs, fried or scrambled.
You can also add your choice of sausage, sour cream, bread, or all of them!
